Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner · 4B01
Dave Cooke
Now more than ever we need people-forward action. That's why I'm running for ANC 4B01.
I've lived in DC for 15 years and Takoma for over 8 years: it's my home. And the past couple years have made it clear that what makes DC so great is the vibrant community. But it seems like being a part of that community gets harder and harder, as costs rise for families, pushing out neighbors and making it harder to bring in new ones. DC is planning right now for its 2050 Vision -- and I want to work to make sure that vision reflects the community I've come to know and love by listening to my neighbors and getting things done.
The KEY issues
A City Must Serve Its People
Safe Streets & Better Transit
How we get around influences how we live. A city that supports frequent transit and safe pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure helps cut costs for families and bring people together. Our city is great! We shouldn't be stuck seeing it through a windshield because it's otherwise so inconvenient to get where we want to be.

Our ANC is home to many folks who have raised families here. But now it's both too expensive for their kids to stay in the city and there are too few options for folks looking to downsize as they age out of single family homes. DC is the place everyone wants to be. But we need more housing options to help bring down costs so we can keep our current neighbors and make room for new ones.
